4. Using CVNView

4.1 Use of Color

For all of the graphs used by CVNView, color has played a major role in representing the data. The five media types of slides, sections, and topics assume a color scheme that provides an unambiguous method of visually separating the data:

  • Board = green
  • Class = cyan
  • Computer = red
  • Podium = blue
  • Sheet = yellow

The colors correspond to the classroom as outlined in the Classroom Color Analogy.

4.2 Opening Image Data for a Class

Once CVNView has started, class data can be loaded by using the Open File icon in the toolbar located near the top of CVNView's window.

Open File

Class data can be opened by selecting the top-level directory that contains the 5 (or less) media type directories, and then clicking the Open button in the Open File dialog. Each time a directory is opened, any previous data is removed from CVNView's data structure and consequently from the visualization frames.
