2.3 Information Mural

The Information Mural foremostly presents an overview of car brands versus years. Each brand is placed in a row of the mural, sorted alphabetically, and years are placed in columns. Depending on whether a brand was manufactured in a given year, the information mural will show a horizontal bar for that particular car. If more than one car of the same brand was manufactured in the same year, eqally many horizontal bars are placed in the mural. Additionally, each bar is colored with the unique color of the car's origin.

When moving the mouse over the line graph, the horizontal bar below the mouse pointer, if any, is highlighted, and the corresponding car is displayed in an iconified version.

Clicking the mouse button when a car is highlighted, selects the car in all visualization frames. Selections work as toggles: clicking on an unselected car selects it; clicking on a selected car unselects it. All selected cars are marked in green.

The functionality of the graph when zooming up to 1000% remains the same as for the original graph: moving the mouse over the graph highlights the closest matching car.

When zooming in more than 1000%, the graph now displays iconified cars for every horizontal bar on the screen.
